Meditation
We could spend all day discussing meditation with its many techniques, origins, and history. That knowledge is ancient and should be protected and respected, so you’ll need to do that research on your own time. For those following this blog, we have a different objective in mind: communicating with spirits.
Meditation is step one. You HAVE to know how to do this if you want to progress further on your spiritual journey. There is no way around it. No matter how difficult and frustrating it will be at first, persistence is key to mastery. You must be dedicated to this practice. Spirituality isn’t something to fear. It’s a journey back to yourself. You’re discovering the depths of your own wisdom, intuition, and connection to the universe. You’re not encountering something external. The path is unveiling what is already within you. Approach meditation with curiosity and trust and allow yourself to be guided towards authenticity, empowerment, clarity, and peace. Which allows you to live in harmony with the world around you.
The term “Medium” has always intrigued me. In short, you raise your frequency, and spirits lower theirs. You meet in the middle – the medium – where communication happens. This is achieved through meditation by focusing on the connection with the spirit you’re trying to reach.
I’ll share my technique and briefly mention what has worked for others. It’s up to you to decide which methods resonate. But before we begin, remember: practice makes perfect. It’s likely you won’t be successful at first, and that’s okay. If frustration sets in, take a break. Forcing the connection will only create resistance. Spirit communication requires flow, not force.
When I connect with my loved ones, I prefer silence. It allows me to separate my own thoughts from the messages I receive. This can be tricky for two reasons:
1. You won’t hear your loved one’s actual voice. You’ll hear your own. Their message arrives as a thought that enters your mind.
2. Your memories can interfere with the messages from spirit.
This interference creates doubt, a trick of the matrix, designed to hold you back from spiritual ascension. The key to recognizing spirit communication is this: when you ask a question, the first thought that enters your mind is the answer. Anything that follows is your own mind processing. You’ll know the message is truly from spirit when you gain access to information you wouldn’t otherwise have.
When first practicing spirit communication, it helps to work with a spirit you don’t know. This prevents personal memories from interfering. You’ll be sharing details about their loved one – things you shouldn’t know – validating that your connection is real.
If you also prefer silence, I recommend noise-canceling headphones and a sleep eye mask. I’ve also found that using “sleep tape” over the mouth during meditation helps regulate breathing and focus.
Some Mediums raise their vibrations with singing bowls, binaural beats, crystals, plants, nature, yoga, or candles. Others hold an object belonging to their loved one: a photo, clothing, jewelry. These items act as permission slips for your soul’s energy to rise. Personally, I’ve used all these tools at different points and still incorporate them into various spiritual practices today.
Your physical position matters. While some believe you must sit upright, I disagree. I have scoliosis, and sitting for long periods is painful. I prefer to lie on a soft surface, though this does increase the risk of falling asleep. If that happens, spirit will never be upset with you. Try again when you’re ready.
Once you’re comfortable, there is no doubt you will get an itch or need to sneeze. Take care of it, then close your eyes. Starting with your feet, bring awareness to each joint in your body:
• Relax your ankles and let your feet fall naturally.
• Move up to your knees, hips, and lower back, releasing tension.
• Let your hands and arms go limp.
• Drop your shoulders and soften your neck.
• Un-clench your jaw. Relax your eyebrows.
Keep scanning your body, allowing yourself to sink into a sensation of warmth and peace. Bonus points if you have a soft blanket for sensory comfort!
This process isn’t like making a phone call. It’s more like shining a beacon of light. The more energy you focus on your loved one, the brighter you shine, drawing their attention.
Other spirits may come through first. Sometimes, a loved one will say hello. Other times, a different spirit may appear to let you know your loved one is preparing to lower their frequency. While higher beings can shift instantly, working within the matrix takes time. It can take a few seconds to a minute before a connection is made.
Remember, time doesn’t exist in the spirit realm. If possible, set aside an entire day to focus on your intentions. Avoid negative people and situations that lower your frequency. Stay in a state of gratitude and peace.
Spirit communication isn’t limited to words. As your abilities develop, messages can come through any of your senses. You might:
• Smell your loved one’s perfume.
• Hear the familiar sound of their footsteps.
• Feel a sudden warmth or presence near you.
Keep a Spirit Journal. Get a hardcover notebook and a good pen. Don’t save your notes on your phone. Writing by hand helps anchor messages into your memory.
Write. Down. Everything. Especially if it doesn’t make sense at the time. Some messages reveal their meaning later. What’s the worst that could happen? You’re wrong; so what? Make a note that it didn’t come true. In five years, you’ll appreciate having a record of your progress. Write down your dreams, the topics you research and insights you gain along the way.
Spirits often communicate through symbols. For example, when I see a vision of an elephant in my mind, I know that to me it means good luck. You’ll develop your own symbols over time.
Keep a separate journal dedicated to your symbols. If a song randomly plays on the radio that reminds you of a loved one, write it down. That song may be their way of reaching out. Later, you can use it during meditation to strengthen your connection.
The more you practice, the stronger your abilities will become. Be patient with yourself. Spirit communication isn’t about perfection. It’s about trust, presence, and openness. Keep going. Be observant of your surroundings. The messages will come.
