Chakras
Chakras are believed to be energy centers within the human body, originating from ancient Indian spiritual traditions. The word “chakra” comes from Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “disk,” symbolizing spinning energy centers.
There are seven main chakras aligned along the spine, from its base to the crown of the head. Each chakra corresponds to specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life, and they are often associated with particular colors, elements, and symbols.

In many spiritual traditions and modern metaphysical perspectives suggest that there are chakras beyond the seven main ones within the body. These additional chakras are often thought to exist outside the physical body and are associated with higher spiritual realms, universal energy, and cosmic consciousness.
Cosmic Chakras
Earth Star Chakra
Location: Below the feet, 6-12 inches into the Earth
Color: Black, brown, dark silver
Represents: Grounding to the Earth’s energy, connection to the planet, ancestral wisdom
Soul Star Chakra:
Location: Above the Crown chakra, 6-12 inches above the head
Color: White, gold, ultraviolet
Represents: Connection to the soul, spiritual awakening, higher purpose
Stellar Gateway Chakra
Location: Earth’s core
Color: Gold, platinum, rainbow
Represents: Connection to the cosmos, divine light, Source energy
Gaia Gateway Chakra:
Location: Earth’s core
Color: Dark red, black
Represents: Profound connection to the Earth’s soul and the collective energy of all living beings
Purpose: Helps align the physical and spiritual aspects of existence with Earth’s vibrations
Universal and Galactic Chakra
Location: Extending far above the Stellar Gateway, connecting to universal and galactic dimensions
Color: Multidimensional (often described as shimmering or iridescent)
Represents: Access to galactic consciousness, universal knowledge, and ascension energies
Purpose: Expands awareness beyond Earth and the physical universe.
These higher chakras are less focused on physical or emotional aspects and more about aligning with cosmic energy and universal truth. These are also my favorites to work with! Keep in mind that the concept of additional chakras varies across traditions and is largely part of Esoteric and New Age spirituality rather than classical yoga or Ayurveda teachings.
Balancing Chakras
Meditation (core practice)
Sit quietly and focus on each chakra one at a time, starting from the root and moving up to the crown
Visualize the corresponding color for each chakra spinning as a glowing sphere of energy
Why it works: Meditation calms the mind, enhances focus, and directly connects you with your subtle energy.
Breath work (pranayama)
Practice deep breathing techniques
Visualize energy flowing along your spine with each inhale and exhale, clearing blockages in each chakra.
Why it works: Breath is a direct channel to your life force (prana) and helps remove energetic stagnation.
Affirmations
Root: I am safe and grounded
Sacral: I am creative and open to joy
Solar plexus: I am confident and in control
Heart: I give and receive love freely
Throat: I speak my truth with clarity
Third eye: I trust my intuition
Crown: I am connected to universal energy
Why it works: Affirmations help reprogram your subconscious mind and align your energy with positive intentions.
Movement (yoga and stretching)
Root: mountain pose
Sacral: pigeon pose
Solar plexus: boat pose
Heart: cobra pose
Throat: fish pose
Third eye: child’s pose
Crown: lotus pose
Why it works: Physical movement helps release stored tension and energy blockages.
Sound healing (mantras and music)
Root: Lam
Sacral: Vam
Solar plexus: Ram
Heart: Yam
Throat: Ham
Third eye: Om
Crown: Silence
Alternatively, listen to solfeggio frequencies or sound bowls tuned to each chakra.
Why it works: Sound vibrations directly resonate with chakra frequencies, facilitating quick alignment.
Visualization with light
Lie down and visualize a beam of white light entering the crown of your head and flowing down your spine, illuminating and clearing each chakra as it passes.
Why it works: Visualization focuses your energy and intention on chakra activation.
Crystals and Essential oils
Root: Red Jasper, Patchouli
Sacral: Carnelian, Orange
Solar plexus: Citrine, Lemon
Heart: Rose quartz, Rose
Throat: Lapis Lazuli, Eucalyptus
Third eye: Amethyst, Frankincense
Crown: Clear Quartz, Lavender
Why it works: Crystals and oils carry vibrational frequencies that amplify energy.
